These are the FIVE things that all travel should include to ensure a COMPLETE travel experience
FOOD is culture and that is a universal truth for everyone on this planet 🙂 Why go overseas just to find the coffee shop or fast food place that you usually eat?? People should eat something unique to that location. Pizza tastes different in Italy but so does olive oil! Are you ready to step on olives and taste the difference of fresh pressed? In Bolivia, McDonald’s was run out of the country, distinguishing it as the only nation to ever do so.
Why? Not because the people were against the food per se, but because to the Bolivian people, a meal should be prepared with love, dedication, certain hygiene standards and proper cook- time. Whenever you go to a country, take the time to feel the love.
People take so much from travel destinations (gifts, food, pictures) that we don’t always think to leave a legacy. We have the ability to show people of the world what Americans are like, what women in America are like, what
are like. We are each ambassadors! Is there an opportunity to volunteer while you’re there? NO time for that? Try buying souvenirs from a local artisan or finding a Fair Trade Market. Fair Trade keeps women and girls from being in sex trafficking rings, early marriage, adds income so that girls can get an education and directly impacts residents. You can get Duty Free products from anywhere and the money you spend won’t carry nearly as much weight as when you spend on Fair Trade.
Do something different while you’re out. Don’t just sit in the hotel, eat and drink the whole time. Zip line, kayak, hike, find out what adventure is unique to that location and
Do something that you cannot do in your neck of the woods then come back home and share your experience.
The FIVE TRAVEL TAGS can be applied to ANY TRAVEL; business, pleasure, romantic, study abroad or weekend getaway. If you have a trip booked now, see how many of the TAGS you can experience.
